Understanding Your Symptoms

Depression

PTSD/ Trauma

Depression

Depression is more than sadness. It can mean persistent low mood, losing interest in things you used to enjoy,

exhaustion, changes in sleep or appetite, trouble concentrating, guilt, and feeling disconnected from your own

life. It responds to treatment.

Anxiety

PTSD/ Trauma

Depression

Anxiety can mean constant worry, racing thoughts, restlessness, irritability, trouble sleeping, and physical

symptoms like a pounding heart or muscle tension. When it starts interfering with work, relationships, or daily

life, it is worth treating.

Trauma does not end when the event does. PTSD can bring nightmares, flashbacks, hypervigilance, avoidance,

and a persistent sense of never quite being safe. These symptoms respond to treatment.

Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD)

PTSD/ Trauma

Bipolar disorder involves shifts in mood, energy, and thinking that can disrupt work, relationships, and daily

functioning. With the right treatment, stability is achievable.

Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD)

ADHD affects attention, organization, executive function, memory, and impulse control. It is not a matter of

effort or willpower — it is a difference in how the brain manages information and priorities.

Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD)

PMDD is a severe, hormone-sensitive mood disorder. Symptoms appear in the week or two before your period

and lift shortly after it begins — but during that window they can be debilitating. It is not "bad PMS," and it

responds to treatment.

Psychotic symptoms occur in schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, mood disorders, substance use, and certain medical conditions. Identifying the underlying cause is what shapes effective treatment.

Substance Use Disorder

Personality Disorders

Long-standing patterns in how a person thinks, feels, handles stress, and relates to others — patterns that can

make relationships and daily life harder than they need to be. Treatment usually combines therapy with medication for co-occurring symptoms.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder

Substance use disorders are treatable medical conditions, not failures of character. Signs include difficulty

controlling use, cravings, rising tolerance, withdrawal, and continued use despite harm to your health,

relationships, or responsibilities.

Please note: we do not currently offer buprenorphine (Suboxone) treatment for opioid use disorder.

Insomnia can manifest as difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, waking too early, or feeling unrefreshed even after sufficient rest. These sleep problems may arise independently or alongside various conditions such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and mood disorders. Moreover, certain medications can also contribute to insomnia or alter sleep patterns. With our approach to psychiatric care, we evaluate sleep habits, mental health symptoms, medical considerations, and current medications to pinpoint potential causes. This comprehensive assessment enables us to create a tailored mental health treatment plan, which might incorporate medication adjustments, sleep-focused strategies, or additional treatments as necessary.
